Description of the project
This project is about a man who longs to be on the road to somewhere. Living between reality and fantasy. In search of something. Not knowing what or why. But having an indistinct feeling that it is necessary to be somewhere else. He doesn’t know what is driving him, but his instinct tells him that he has to undertake a quest into the unknown. He is longing for this quest, but at the same time in doubt for what he is going to lose and find.
The rocketman makes us aware of mans need to seek connection with himself, his nature and environment. Specially the importance of connecting with other people to feel alive. The aim of the photographs is to empathize with this man’s quest. But also to raise questions about our motives and feelings to move on all the time in search of a perfect world. Everybody is so busy all the time that we often do not appreciate what is really important in life. The social consequence of this way of living is that there is more loneliness than ever. The rocketman makes us aware that we may feel alone, but that we aren’t alone.
